The NRHA Futurity was fantastic. OKC was wonderful, but the Texas border was a beautiful site. You can’t see it, but you know it’s there. And it’s a warm welcome home when you cross it, too.
Monday was a mess with fresh horses that were couped up and blanketed for three days, wet arena and steady mist. That afternoon, the phone rang. “Well, I know you’re not horseback. So, what’s going on, man?” came the voice on the other end.
These are the days that don’t get seen. When you see the same top guys at the Reining Futurity, the NFR, the Cutting Futurity, AQHA World, etc. You think it’s because they have nicer horses? A better name? More money?
Wrong Again. Wrong. And Wrong.
It’s because they put in those long hard days. Everyday.
The part everyone else does not see… The Journey… That’s the important part.
… Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
