The corrals were stuffed to the gills. There were probably 45 head, or so. And the work started.
Sort a couple of the cows. Hold them in the crowd pen long enough to worm them and then back to the pasture they go. We kept thinning the cows until there were just a couple left.
It was time to start sending the shippers to the trailer. Mick and Dick worked their magic with the cut gate while Morgan and I made the first sort horse back in an effort to make the twins’ job easier. (sometimes that’s arguable 😉 ) And the calves, 300 lbs to 500lbs were loaded on the trailer. Every now and then, we would cut the remaining cows and send them to the pasture.
And then there was one.
Today’s Readings probably have a special place in all of our hearts. At one point in time we’ve all been alone. Or, at least felt like we were alone.
But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me.
In the world you will have trouble,
but take courage, I have conquered the world.
Today is the day you know… in every part of your being… that You Will Never Be Alone.
But here’s the thing. There are people in our lives right now, probably many (you know who they are) that do not know this. Help them. They aren’t alone. They’ve just had the mess of life ‘sorted’ away from them so that you could share a bit of good news.
